When are Ireland's sunsets latest, and how much daylight will I get in June?
The latest sunsets come in the days just after the summer solstice, not on it. In Dublin the sun sets at its latest, a few minutes before 10pm, around 24 June, and on the north coast it slips a little later again. Across June the city gets between sixteen and seventeen hours of daylight a day: sunrise is before 5am by the middle of the month, and at the solstice the day runs to about seventeen hours. Twilight stretches the usable light further, and in the northwest the sky barely darkens fully around midsummer. That is the real gift of a June trip: a full sightseeing day, dinner, and a walk after it in daylight.
