How rainy is Ireland in each season, in actual rain days and temperatures?
Rain falls in every season, and the totals differ less between seasons than between coasts. On Met Éireann long term averages, the east gets about 750 to 1,000 millimetres a year and the west 1,000 to 1,400, spread over roughly 150 wet days in the east and up to 225 in the west. Temperatures move gently: winter days average about 8 degrees with nights near 2, spring climbs from 10 degrees in March to 15 by May, summer days sit between 18 and 20 degrees, and autumn falls back through the teens. December and January are the wettest months and April to June the driest, but no month is reliably dry. Pack the waterproofs for the season you are given, not the one you ordered.
