How far ahead can I trust an Irish weather forecast?
Work on this scale. The first two days of a Met Éireann forecast are detailed enough to plan a walk or a boat trip around, down to the timing of a front crossing your county. Days three to five give a usable shape (a wet day coming, a clearance behind it) but the timing and the rainfall amounts move as the days close in. Beyond five days, treat any forecast, from any app, as a trend rather than a promise: Atlantic weather systems form and deepen quickly, and Ireland sits at the end of them. Two working habits help. Check the forecast for the town you are going to, not the county, on the morning of the day itself, and check the warnings page as well, because a warning changes a plan faster than a temperature does.
