What is a sensible three day Ireland trip if Dublin is my only base?
Keep the bed in Dublin and spend the days at different ranges. Day one is the city on foot: Trinity College and the Book of Kells, Kilmainham Gaol and the Guinness Storehouse. Day two goes south to Glendalough and Powerscourt in Wicklow, starting early to reach the monastic valley before the day trip coaches. Day three goes north to the Boyne Valley: Newgrange and Bru na Boinne, the Hill of Tara and Monasterboice. That is the shape of our Dublin and the East in 3 Days itinerary. Book Newgrange well ahead, because entry is by timed tour.
