How do I get to Kildare Town by train or bus?
By train, easily: Kildare town is on the main line out of Dublin Heuston, with direct trains through the day, the fastest making the run in about 25 minutes and stopping services taking 45 to 50 minutes. The station is a short walk from Market Square, and a free shuttle runs from the station to Kildare Village, the town centre and the National Stud. By bus, Bus Éireann route 126 links Dublin and Kildare town. Two neighbouring towns take a little more work: Naas is served by Sallins and Naas station, about five kilometres out with a bus or taxi link, and Celbridge by Hazelhatch and Celbridge. Check the day's timetable before an early start; Sunday services run thinner.
