What family facilities should I check before booking rural accommodation?
Rural properties vary more than hotels, so confirm the practical list in writing before you pay. Ask whether the family room truly sleeps your group or relies on a sofa bed, whether a cot and high chair are provided, and whether there is a bath or only a shower. Check the kitchen and laundry arrangements in self catering, the heating in the shoulder months, and whether stairs have gates if you have a toddler; many farmhouses do not. Ask about parking at the door, wifi strength for a wet evening, and how far the nearest shop, doctor and petrol station are. A good host answers all of it plainly, and the answers shape the packing.
