How do I plan an Ireland route with a baby or toddler?
Slow the standard trip down by a third and it works well. Choose one or two bases and stay put: self catering with a kitchen and a washing machine beats a hotel room at baby scale. Time the day's one drive for the nap, and make it the only drive. Get the cot, and a ground floor room or a lift, confirmed in writing; rural B&Bs vary more than hotels do. Front load the day: sights at opening time, lunch as the big meal, because Irish kitchens are used to children at lunch while dinner service starts later than a toddler does. And raise the car seat with the rental company before you book, not at the desk.
