Why do some Irish Escapes festival dates say to be confirmed?
Because the organiser has not published the date yet, and we will not guess it. Some festivals confirm their next edition a year ahead. Others, often run by volunteers or tied to a bank holiday weekend, publish much later. Irish Escapes marks those cards to be confirmed and shows the event's usual timing instead, so you can plan around the likely month without building flights or beds on a date nobody has committed to. Dates marked confirmed come from the organiser's own site or listing. Before you book travel around any festival, check the official event page for the current position, and treat a to be confirmed date as a pencil mark, not a promise.
