What should I pack and plan for an outdoor Irish festival if rain is forecast?
Pack for the ground as much as the sky. A proper waterproof jacket and waterproof trousers, boots or shoes that can handle wet grass and mud, and layers you can add when the wind gets up matter more than an umbrella, which is hard work in a crowd. Bring a dry bag or sealed pouch for your phone and ticket, a power bank, and a full change of clothes and shoes left in the car or your room. Check the Met Éireann forecast the night before and again that morning, and read any organiser updates on parking and ground conditions. Fields turn first, so arrive early while car parks are still firm.
