What makes Wexford Festival Opera different, and how do tickets work?
Wexford does the operas other houses pass over. Since 1951 the festival has built its name on rare and rediscovered works, staged each autumn in the National Opera House on High Street, alongside daytime recitals, concerts and talks across the town. The run lasts over a fortnight, so a short stay can still hold two or three productions. Tickets are sold through the festival box office online and by phone. Friends of the festival book first in a priority period before general booking opens, and the best seats for popular nights go in that window. If dates matter more than seats, join as a Friend before booking opens and book the bed at the same time.
