Which itinerary should I choose if I have already done Dublin and the Ring of Kerry?
Go north and northwest, the half of the island most second trips miss. Base in Sligo for Benbulben, the Carrowmore tombs and Strandhill, then give Donegal proper time: Glenveagh National Park, Fanad Lighthouse and Slieve League, where the cliffs rise nearly 600 metres and the crowds thin out. Cross to Derry for the city walls, then follow the Causeway Coast through Dunluce and the Giant's Causeway to two nights in Belfast for Titanic Belfast and the city itself. Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands, and West Cork's Beara Peninsula are the other strong second trip choices if the south calls you back instead.
