What is there to do in Armagh in one day?
Stand on the Hill of St Patrick first: the Church of Ireland cathedral, on the site of Patrick's principal church, with Brian Boru's traditional grave in its grounds. Walk down through the Georgian streets to The Mall, the long tree-lined square, and the County Museum facing it. Lunch on the Mall side of town. Then climb the opposite hill to the Catholic cathedral and its twin spires and look back: the two cathedrals facing each other across the city are Armagh's whole story in one view. Leave the last part of the day for Navan Fort, a short drive west, where the Navan Centre explains Emain Macha, the Iron Age royal site of Ulster.
