What is the best base town in County Fermanagh?

Enniskillen, without a serious contest. The county town sits on an island between the two loughs, holds the castle museums and the boat hire, and puts Devenish, Castle Coole and both loughs within easy reach. Evenings are modest but real: pubs and restaurants enough for a few nights. Belleek suits a pottery and Upper Lough trip, and the villages near Florence Court suit walkers headed for Cuilcagh, but both leave you driving back toward Enniskillen for most things. Base in the town, let the county radiate from it, and spend the saved driving time on the water instead.
