What is Kildare Village, and is the outlet worth a stop?
Kildare Village is Ireland's designer outlet: more than 100 boutiques at the edge of Kildare town, selling previous season stock at savings of up to 60 per cent on the recommended retail price, all year round. It belongs to the same collection as Bicester Village in England, and it draws shoppers from Dublin in real numbers, especially at weekends. Worth a stop if labels at a discount are your thing, and painless to add: it sits off exit 13 of the M7 with free parking, and the free shuttle that links the station and the National Stud calls there too. Worth skipping if you came for Brigid and the horses.
