What are the best things to do in County Dublin?
Do the old centre on foot first: Trinity College and the Book of Kells, then Dublin Castle and Christ Church, all inside a short walk of each other. Give Phoenix Park half a day for scale: the deer herds, the zoo and one of the largest enclosed city parks in Europe reset what a city park means. Then get out to the bay: Howth for the cliff walk and seafood, or Malahide and Dalkey on the other arms of the coast. The literary pubs repay evenings rather than schedules. If time is short, drop Temple Bar as a destination in itself: walk through it, then drink somewhere quieter.
