What are the best things to do in County Cork?
Give the city its own day: the English Market in the morning, when the stalls are full, then Shandon's bells and the steep streets above the Lee. Take the harbour day to Cobh for the Titanic and emigration story, told where the ships actually left. Blarney earns a visit for its gardens as much as its stone. Then choose one West Cork peninsula and do it properly: Beara for quiet roads, Mizen Head for the signal station at the very end of Ireland. Kinsale is the food stop either way. What to drop: the attempt to drive all three peninsulas in a day. That is a windscreen tour of the best coast in the country.
