Is Antrim worth an overnight stay or just a stop?
For most visitors, no: Antrim is a stop or a half day rather than a base, and the town itself is honest about that. Evenings are quiet, beds are few, and Belfast is close enough to hold the county's museums, restaurants and hotels. The exceptions are real, though: boat people using the Lough Neagh marina, anglers on the Six Mile Water, and anyone content to walk the castle gardens and the lough shore at a local's pace. If your trip is about Lough Neagh itself, stay. If it is about the Causeway Coast or Belfast, sleep in one of those and give Antrim its good half day.
