How many days do I need in County Kildare?

Two full days cover the county well. Give one to Kildare town: the Irish National Stud and its gardens need half a day on their own, and the cathedral, the round tower and St Brigid's Well fill the rest without rushing. Give the second to the north of the county, Castletown House and its parkland at Celbridge, or to Donadea Forest Park for a walking day. A third day earns its keep if racing is on at the Curragh or Punchestown, if you want Lullymore with children, or if you would rather walk a stretch of the Barrow Way than drive past it. One day only? Do the Stud and the town, and leave the rest for a return trip.
