Will I find Wi-Fi in Ireland when I need it?
In towns, yes, without trying hard. Hotels and guesthouses include Wi-Fi as standard, most cafés and many pubs offer it to customers, the airports are free to use, and Intercity trains carry free Wi-Fi, as do many long distance coaches. The patchiness is geographic rather than social: the mobile signal that hotspots and Wi-Fi calling depend on thins out in the mountains, along parts of the west coast and on the small islands, and a thick stone cottage wall can defeat the house router in a back bedroom. Maps, boarding passes and bookings downloaded for offline use before a rural day cover the gaps, and the next café stop is the reliable place to reconnect.
