When is the best time to visit Ireland?

For most people, May, June and September. The days are long (it stays light past 9pm in June), the weather is as settled as Ireland gets, and crowds and prices sit below the July and August peak. July and August bring the festivals, but also the busiest roads and the highest rates. Winter suits a city and pub trip, though daylight shrinks to about eight hours in late December and many rural sights cut their hours.
