What is the Dublin Irish Festival in Ohio?
A city-run Irish festival in Dublin, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus that leans into its name. It runs for three days over the first weekend of August, across 29 acres in and around Coffman Park, with seven or eight stages. The City of Dublin, which produces it, bills it as the largest three day Irish festival in the world, and reports more than 100,000 guests a year. It began in 1988 with dancers and a band on a tennis court. Music is the headline, but the programme includes genealogy, Irish sport, dance and a market, and the Columbus Feis, a dance competition, runs alongside. If you are choosing one Midwestern Irish weekend, this and Milwaukee, two weeks later, are the two to weigh.
