What Irish cultural centres exist in American cities, and what do they run?

The pattern is the same in most cities: a hall, a library, a bar that funds both, and a programme that runs all year. Centres run Irish language and music classes, dance schools, sessions, céilís, concerts, film nights and lectures, and most hold a genealogy library of some size. The centres we list in Irish in USA include the United Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco, the Irish American Heritage Center and Chicago Gaelic Park in Chicago, the Irish Cultural Centre of New England in Canton, Massachusetts, and the Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library in Phoenix, whose three storey library holds more than 6,000 genealogy books and a Book of Kells facsimile. You do not need to be a member, or Irish, to go. Most events are open to anyone who turns up, and a centre is the fastest way into a city's Irish life.
