What happens at the Kansas City Irish Fest?

Three days over the Labor Day weekend at Crown Center in Kansas City, on a site in the middle of the city rather than a fairground outside it. The festival was founded in 2003, merging two neighbourhood Irish festivals, and moved to Crown Center in 2004; it now draws 90,000 to 100,000 people a year. Nearly all of it is run by volunteers, more than a thousand of them. Expect dozens of acts across seven or eight stages, heritage workshops, Irish dance, food and drink, and a Sunday Mass that opens the last day for many regulars. It is one of the largest Irish festivals in the United States, and the one our Irish in USA listings carry for Missouri.
